WALGA and PIA are pleased to present a joint breakfast showcasing WA’s recent National Award winners for Planning Excellence and the launch of WALGA’s new Preferred Supplier Arrangement for Town Planning and Related Services.
This event provides an exclusive opportunity to learn more about the PIA Awards for Planning Excellence and gain valuable tips and hints from the best in the profession. Following the breakfast, WALGA invites you network with appointed suppliers and receive details on the composition, scope and benefits associated with the new contract for Local Governments.

About WALGA’s Preferred Supplier Arrangement for Town Planning and Related Services
The new contract follows an extensive tender process, and provides a panel of 26 consultancies, including six regionally based suppliers.  Each company has been prequalified to the WALGA Panel with discounted rates that are directly accessible by WALGA Members. The scope of the new panel provides access to professional services for Town Planning knowledge, experience and advice, particularly for strategic and statutory planning and services to support the administration of Local Planning Schemes and to process development applications and approval processes. Services also extend to advocacy and representation.
About the PIA Awards for Planning Excellence
The annual PIA Awards for Planning Excellence demonstrate leading practice, leadership and achievement in planning and the planning profession. The Awards recognise excellence and showcase leading practice across a range of planning disciplines and sectors. Leadership in planning, particularly in the face of adversity, is acknowledged and applauded. In all, the Awards are a chance to celebrate, recognise and reward outstanding planning and planners.

As a national program the Awards commenced at the state and territory level seeking out the best of planning in each jurisdiction. Following judgement and recognition at a local awards ceremony, the winners of the appropriate categories in the state and territory Awards are elevated to the national stage. The best on offer from each state and territory are judged at a national level, culminating in the National Awards for Planning Excellence ceremony which acknowledges the best of planning and planners that Australia has to offer.
