Summary
  • The Minister for Commerce and Industrial Relations has announced a review of the State industrial relations system.
     
  • The review will address whether Local Governments should be regulated by the State industrial relations system.
     
  • WALGA has been invited to make a submission by 24 November 2017, and will be consulting with the sector over the next 3 weeks.
     
  • WALGA is inviting written feedback on the review terms of reference and will host a Sector Reference Group consultation meeting to inform a representative sector position.

The new WALGA Salary and Workforce Survey is well underway. It is the most comprehensive salary survey ever conducted by WALGA. The survey is open to all Local Governments in WA and NT.
 
To give you more time to complete the survey, the deadline has been extended to 5:00pm Monday, 30 October 2017 .

The National Local Government Human Resources Conference is on in November hosted by Local Government NSW. 
 
For those who are new to Local Government, this is a conference for Human Resource professionals in Local Government and is held every two years in either Queensland, NSW or Victoria. The conference will provide an opportunity for:

As you may be aware, after more than two decades of delivery, WALGA took an opportunity to review the scope and format of the annual salary survey in 2016 and is now excited to invite you to participate in the new and improved WALGA Salary and Workforce Survey 2017. WALGA has contracted SalaryOne, a Perth based remuneration consulting business, to deliver the new service.
