Local Government Insurance Services (LGIS) is the unifying name for the Municipal Liability, Property and WorkCare Schemes and is supported in the Insurance Market by the Municipal Insurance Broking Services.
Established in 1995 to address challenges being experienced in Local Governments, the self insurance schemes provide services, resources and support for effective claims and risk management strategies to enable cost containment far into the future.
LGIS continues to address issues that members face in managing their claims and identifying opportunities to minimise their risks by introducing proactive systems and processes for risk management and staff training. LGIS continues to develop and deliver services with a regional approach for benefits in resource and cost sharing to assist all members to achieve legislative compliance and sustainable risk management.
Services address issues relating to OSH, Injury Prevention, Injury Management, Health Assessments, Stress and Organisational Wellbeing, Risk Management Systems, Events Management and Workplace Training Programs.
